Com-Strat to assist White House as CDC launches new vaccine finder service

President Joe Biden’s administration will be launching a website, text-message tool and telephone hotline to link Americans with Covid-19 vaccination sites near them in early May. These tools are targeted to reach people and areas that have remained underserved during the pandemic and vaccine rollout. The phone number will be advertised in rural areas with spotty Internet coverage and the text tool will appear on digital ads targeted for younger people. The measures are aimed in particular at youth, those living in rural areas and people of color, the official said.

VaccineFinder.org has relaunched as Vaccines.gov along with a new Spanish-language equivalent, Vacunas.gov. People in the U.S. will be able to text their ZIP code to GETVAX (438829) or VACUNA (822862) to see locations near them with available doses or call a toll-free number with service in more than 150 languages.

The Biden administration reached out to behavioral economists for advice and also selected companies with technology and in-depth contact center expertise to launch the initiative.  With over 45 years of industry experience, Chuck Vondra, managing partner at Com-Strat, was tapped to participate in the contact center planning and launch.
